Transparency

Be as transparent as you can, but protect yourself first. Most companies look out for themselves, so why shouldn’t you? People are becoming more and more accepting of circumstances, so be as honest and up front as you can, and hopefully you can have an honest conversation.

Connection

Connection is powerful. Whether you like it or not, as humans, we are wired so that our well being depends on the connections with others. A connection sometimes can’t be explained, it’s just a feeling. Try find ways to genuinely connect with the people you work with. Everything good and bad in our lives has brought us to where we are now, and that has significance. You might actually find you have a similar story to someone. Having good relationships just improves the work. Capitalize on the unique story you have and share it with others. You might just make a real connection.

Intention & Purpose

Know your strengths and weaknesses, know YOURSELF. Know the types of environments you do well in and find a role that suits your style of working. Be intentional with how (and why) you want to impact the world.

Listening

Really listen. Try to understand what people are looking for. Don’t have anything to say? Ask questions. Then listen.

Playfulness

Did you know that being playful stimulates creativity? But don’t play because it stimulates creativity, play to play. Be silly, laugh, find joy in little things. Keep reminding yourself that there is more to life than sitting behind a desk.
